Sizlere ekte göndermiş olduğumuz mektup Güney Afrika'nın Cape Town şehrindeki; çok gayretli, ihlaslı, samimi ve şevkli bir nur talebesi olan Nazeema Ablanın geçtiğimiz günlerde Cape Town şehrinde olan bir fuardaki izlenimleridir. Nazeema Abla 45 yaş civarında ve Başkanlık ofisinde; Devlet başkanının konuşmasını yazıyor, özel katipliğini yapıyor. Hamdolsun bu Hanım Ablamız Nurları tanıdıktan sonra 5-6 defa Türkiye’yi ziyaret etti. Kendisi Risale-i Nurları ciddi bir şekilde aşkla okuyor ve hizmet ediyor. Cenab-ı Hak ebeden razı olsun ve ahir ömrüne kadar hizmette istihdam etsin. İhlas ve sadakatini arttırsın inşaallah. Kirada olan bir evi vardı, bu evi boşaltıp Hanımlar dersanesi için tahsis etti; dua buyrun Ağustos ayı içerisinde Hanımlar Dersanesi inşaallah hizmete girecek.

Bismihi Sübhanehü
Expo 2009 fuarı Güney Afrika’da yılın önemli bir olayıdır. Fuar, Güney Afrika Müslüman öğrenciler birliği ev sahipliğinde yapılmıştır. Fuarın amacı sadece İslamiyeti tanıtmaktır. Western Cape’de birçok organizasyon ve kuruluş vardır. Bunlar; medya, kâr amacı gütmeyen organizasyonlar, 'wah hareketleri, İslam sanatının da bulunduğu fuarda birçok Müslüman organizasyon ve kurum vardır. Ayrıca bu fuarda insanların bir araya gelip tanışıp kaynaşması amaçlanmıştır. Bunun yanında İslami kıyafet ve kitap temin etmek de mümkündür.
Biz düşündük ki; bu fuar Üstadı, Risale-i Nur’u ve hizmetimizi bu şehirde tanıtmak için önemli bir fırsattır. İnsanlar Risale-i Nur’dan mutlaka faydalanmalıdır. Üstadımızın dediği gibi bu zamanda en önemli mesele imanı kurtarma meselesidir.
Burada en önemli vazife nurları okuyarak insanları cesaretlendirmektir. Buradaki insanlar geleneksel bir İslam anlayışının kurbanı oluyorlar. Halbuki İslam bütün asırlara hükmetmektedir. Kur’an kainat kitabıdır.
Bundan başka Cape Town şehrinde İslami eğitim sisteminde kişiye kendisi için dua ve ibadet etmesi öğretilir. Halbuki asıl hedef Allah rızası ve O’nun hatırı için olmalıdır. Bize Risale-i Nur şu esas ders veriyor: “Vazifemiz hizmet, ibadet ve de okuduğunu uygulamaktır.”
Şevkimizi arttıranlardan birisi de birçok bayanın Nurlara olan alakasıdır. Onlar Nurlar hakkında birçok soru sordular ve Nurları keşfetmek için bilgi aldılar.
Elhamdülillah bu fuarın sonucu olarak ben şimdiden diğer hanımlara da nurları okumam ve anlatmam için onlardan davet aldım.
Fuardan öğrendiğimiz en önemli hususlardan biri de Nurları çok okuyarak muhtaç olan diğer insanlara ilim, hikmet ve ihlasla tebliğ etmektir. Buradan şunu anladık ki hizmette tecrübe önemlidir. Ayrıca bizler mutlaka Nurlara karşı ciddi olmalıyız ve onların üzerinde kararlılıkla yoğunlaşmalıyız.
Elhamdülillah. Çetin kardeş, Allah’ın inayetiyle bütün vaktini ve himmetini hizmete hasrediyor. Risale-i Nur’ u anlamada Çetin kardeşi bizim yardımımıza gönderdiği için, Allah’a samimi şükranlarımızı sunuyoruz. Bu şehirde bu hizmetleri daim etmesini Allah’tan niyaz ediyoruz.
Manisa’dan İbrahim ağabeye derin şükran ve takdirlerimizi sunuyoruz. Çünkü onun yardımıyla fuar için Risale-i Nur posterleri temin ettik. Fuarda kitapların makbuzlarını temin etme işini kolaylaştıran Yunus ağabeye de samimi minnet ve şükranlarımızı sunuyoruz. Yunus ağabeyin şevki ve hizmetteki sebat ve devamı bizim şükrümüzü bir kat daha arttırıyor.
Özetle, bütün kardeşlerimizden dua istiyoruz ki Risale-i Nurdan istifade edelim ve istikbalde hizmet burada inkişaf etsin.

Reflections on Islam Expo 2009
The Islam Expo 2009 is becoming an annual event on the Cape Town Calendar. The Expo is hosted by the Muslim Students Association of South Africa. The purpose of the Expo is to showcase Islam in the Western Cape. There were many Muslim organizations and institutions that were present at the Expo-these included the media, non-profit organizations, da’wah movements, Islamic art, counseling services and community outreach organizations, bookshops and other purveyors of Islamic wear, goods and services.
We felt that it was very important to locate Ustad and the Risale-i Nur on this Islamic landscape in the Western Cape, because there is a dersane located in the city, and therefore people should benefit from the inconceivable treasury of knowledge that is the Risale-i Nur. This is of fundamental importance since Ustad has pivoted the matter of saving iman as the most critical issue in modernity.
In this respect it is therefore our fundamental duty to encourage more people in Cape Town to read Risale-i Nur. Too many people in Cape Town have unfortunately fallen victim to a very imitative kind of belief through their practice of a ritualistic Islam that is largely devoid of reflection and contemplation of the Qur’an, and the book of the universe.
Furthermore, through our system of Islamic education in Cape Town, much emphasis is placed on performing worship and prayer to obtain rewards for oneself, rather that to perform such worship and prayer for ALLAH’S sake and with the aim of invoking ALLAH’S pleasure. The Risale-i Nur represents a fundamental departure from such conceptions of Islam, duty, purpose and worship, and it is for this reason that the duty is incumbent upon us to encourage reading and practice of the wisdom contained in the Risale-i Nur Inshaallah
It was very encouraging to note that many women showed a very keen interest in Risale-i Nur. They asked many questions and expressed an interest to discover more about Risale-i Nur. This is among the reasons that it is important for us to establish a dersane for women, so that there is a focal point where women can come and learn about the Risale-i Nur. It is my fervent and sincere duah that ALLAH will facilitate the establishment of the dersane, and that all our endeavours there are executed purely for ALLAH’S Pleasure Inshaallah.
As a consequence of the Expo, I have already received two invitations from women to come and read from Risale-i Nur to other women Alhamdulillah.
Lessons Learnt
Probably the most important lesson that I learnt as a consequence of the Expo is the fundamental importance for us as aspiring students of the Risale-i Nur, to be very knowledgeable about Risale-i Nur if we are to be in a position to make teblig with wisdom, sincerity and integrity. This confirmed in an experiential way the necessity that we must be serious about Risale-i Nur and that we must study with focus and commitment. We must first prepare ourselves in order to engage with other people about Risale-i Nur.
Alhamdulillah, with this realization came ALLAH’S assistance for us in the person of Cetin Kardes who has dedicated his time to teach us with fervour, focus and knowledge about the Risale-i Nur. We express our sincerest gratitude to ALLAH for availing to us the service of Cetin Kardes in our endeavour of learning about, and from the Risale-i Nur. It is our heartfelt and humble request that we will be allowed to continue to benefit from his teaching in the future in Cape Town Inshaallah.
We would like to express our most profound thanks and appreciation to Ibrahim Abi from Manisa, who was instrumental in assisting us with advice, support and aid in facilitating that we have posters of the Risale-i Nur for the Expo. We experienced the true expression of brotherhood in endeavour, through the selfless assistance, encouragement and support of Ibrahim Abi, Alhamdulillah. We would also like to express our sincerest appreciation to Yunus Abi who facilitated for us the receipt of books for the Expo. His encouragement and continued selfless assistance with our endeavours in Cape Town remains an invaluable pillar of support for us Alhamdulillah.
Concluding Remarks
We request the duahs from all our brothers that we will Inshaallah grow our own knowledge of the Risale-i Nur and that we will be able to substantially develop hizmet here in Cape Town and in South Africa in the foreseeable future, Inshaallah.
